Digital Radiology (X-Rays)
When your pet isn’t feeling well, diagnostic imaging can provide valuable insight into what is happening beneath the surface. At Englehart Animal Hospital, we use digital radiography (X-rays) to quickly and accurately diagnose a wide range of medical conditions, allowing us to begin treatment as soon as possible.
X-rays are an important diagnostic tool used to evaluate your pet’s:
- Bones and joints
- Heart and lungs
- Abdomen, including the stomach and intestines
- Bladder and urinary tract
- Spine
- Detection of foreign objects, fractures, arthritis, and other medical conditions
Radiographs are often recommended when your pet is experiencing illness, injury, lameness, or pain, and may also be used as part of a comprehensive wellness assessment or pre-surgical evaluation.
Advanced Digital Imaging
Our digital X-ray system produces high-quality images within minutes, allowing our veterinary team to review results quickly and make timely treatment recommendations. Digital radiography also uses significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays while providing enhanced image quality.
Keeping Your Pet Comfortable
To obtain clear, accurate images, pets must remain completely still during the procedure. Many patients can be comfortably positioned by our experienced team, while others may benefit from light sedation to minimize stress and ensure the highest quality images. If sedation is recommended, our team will discuss the procedure and answer any questions before proceeding.
At Englehart Animal Hospital, we are committed to providing accurate diagnostics, compassionate care, and timely treatment so your pet receives the best possible care when they need it most.
